Explorer’s Club

Join us for a 16 week After School Explorers Club- themes including Cooking and Food Exploration, Critters and Creatures, and Body Science and Biology. Take field trips and play in the clinic’s sensory spaces.

The club supports children’s fine motor, visual motor, attention, and following directions skills and offers supported Free play for sensory motor development, healthy risk taking and play skills.

Social skill support is woven into the program so that children have the opportunity to practice making friends, building relationships, and enjoying activities together with the expert support of our therapy team.

This Group is for children grades 1-3, who are able to participate in the flow of a group without one to one support. This group is open to participants who are not current clients, but you will be asked to participate in a Goodness of Fit phone assessment prior to enrolling.

Bal-A-Vis-X Club

Join us for a 6 week group of after school structured Movement/Bal-A-Vis-X Group, led by Libby Bishop, OT/L, BAL-A-VIS-X certified.

BAL-A-VIS-Xis a series of Balance (“Bal”)/Auditory (“A”)/Vision (“Vis”) exercises (“X”) for Brain and Brain-Body Integration, of varied complexity, most of which are deeply rooted in rhythm. These exercises require full-body coordination and focused attention. It utilizes sand-filled bags, racquetballs, and balance boards. This research-based program shows that students regularly engaged in Bal-A-Vis-X show gains in personal, social and academic skill-building.

Exercises address visual tracking deficiencies and auditory imprecision, impulsivity, balance and anxiety issues. By virtue of teachable techniques (not athleticism), Bal-A-Vis-X enables body systems to experience the flow of a pendulum, thereby affording brain systems calm and sustained focus. Individual exercises promote self-challenge. Partner and group exercises demand cooperation and foster peer teaching.

This group is open to participants who are not current clients, but you will be asked to participate in a Goodness of Fit phone assessment prior to enrolling.

There are 2 groups, by age:

Thursday afternoons (4-5pm), ages 12+

Friday afternoons (4-5pm),  ages 6-11
